RAPTOR RAIL ELIZABETH STREET, SYDNEY
The System
The installation of a High Access System was required to provide for both the internal cleaning of high glass and for access in conducting service maintenance of the suspended lighting system above the escalators of the main foyer and entrance of the Navitas building at 255 Elizabeth Street, Sydney.
The monorails had to be positioned precisely between the rows of lighting and suspended from the soffit to sit as close as possible to the top of the lights to enable services to be conducted. In addition to this, the monorails system and support structures are exposed and painted white to keep in style with the industrial finish of the concrete ceiling and exposed services.
The Equipment
The system comprises 3 individual Raptor type monorails over level 3 with 1 overhead fall arrest anchor point at entry point providing safety at transition onto the system. 3 more individual Raptor type monorails continue over level 2 which are accessed from the system above. Each monorail is equipped with 4 rolling trolleys enabling two servicemen to conduct works at all times.
